Since fitness is the name of the game here on WOD on the Waves, we’ve definitely got it covered! The class options are vast and will encompass all aspects of fitness. From high intensity, to heavy, to aerobic capacity or yoga, the classes offered will certainly fulfill your fitness fantasy. The only hang up will be how to choose which ones to fit in on your fitcation! A full class schedule will be released soon. Until then, scroll through the descriptions below to see what’s in store!


The Workout Is:  Dumbbell & Kettlebells

If you wanted a barbell, just come to this class and you will get your fix of heavy loading! We have heavy to light DB’s and KB’s that will allow us to get some good work and good reps in with some load!


The Workout Is:  Sandbags

The sandbag sesh is all about moving a sandbag in as many different ways as you can imagine! From cleans, to deadlifts and squats – if you can dream it, we will do it with a sandbag. We will couple the sandbag with other movements, so come ready to work!


The Workout Is:  Yoga

Yoga cultivates health and wellbeing (physical, emotional, mental and social) through the regular practice of a range of many different techniques, including postures and movement, breath awareness and breathing exercises, relaxation and concentration, self-inquiry and meditation.


The Workout Is:  Bootcamp

A low barrier to entry workout, the calisthenics will focus on keeping your body moving. A warm-up, workout, and cool-down will help you get your day started.


The Workout Is:  Machines (rowers, ski ergs, bikes)

We have Rowers, Ski’s and Bikes and we will use them all in fun interval based workouts, team sessions as well as some all out efforts!


The Workout Is:  Technique Class

Spend 30 minutes learning from the best with a PVC pipe, working positions, drills and techniques that will maximize your efficiency and efficacy on a barbell!


The Workout Is:  Tone House

We are excited to introduce our partnership with Tone House ! New York City’s signature athletic based training facility will have classes every day on the ship!

Sessions will consist of explosive movements, agility drills, speedwork, and exercises commonly found in team based sports. Increase your conditioning levels with high intensity movements and an encouraging, team-based atmosphere!


The Workout Is:  Strong New York

Strong New York, New York City’s biggest health and wellness event, is joining WOD on the Waves! Their mission is to help you understand what true strength is, give you the tools to become the best version of yourself, and inspire a stronger you! Strong New York coaches Kenny Santucci, Lulu Faria, Danielle Barry, and Cody Mooney will be on the ship leading classes and helping you get STRONG!


The Workout Is:  Yoga with Amy

Amy Schneider started teaching yoga in 2007. Since then, she has attended hundreds of hours of teacher training programs with a variety of instructors. She has used these education programs as inspiration to create her own style and sequencing for her power vinyasa classes. Amy strongly believes in creating a flow that leaves students feeling balanced and equanimous. With the perfect combination of tension and release, her yoga classes are designed to make you stronger and more flexible, physically, mentally, and emotionally. She also believes in making yoga fun and accessible to everybody (and every body!). Fun music, modifications, and clear instruction makes Amy’s classes attainable and enjoyable for all.


The Workout Is:  WOW Coco K Fun Run

Join us on the beautiful island of CocoCay for a short morning fun run around the island. The run will be for all ages and will be on a paved path. You will be able to sign up for the fun run on the ship!


The Workout Is:  Happy Hour Crossfit

We know you sailors love workouts on the ship, but the land goers need a workout too! Join us on the sunny docks and shore of Nassau Harbor for Happy Hour – Happy Hour Crossfit, that is! All your traditional gym gear is here – barbells, free weights, and a vast open view of Paradise Island. Enjoy the salty air and the breathtaking view – if you can see through the sweat in your eyes!


The Workout Is:  Kids Fitness

A healthy lifestyle starts when you are young! For ages 5-12, your kids will explore new ways to move, play, and expend their energy in a healthy way!

For ages 13-17, feel free to join our main workout classes with your Parent/Guardian.


The Workout Is:  Yoga with Nikki

Nikki McGowan is a native of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and moved to Miami in 2006 to pursue her degree in exercise physiology and a track and field career. After college, Nikki realized her track career was complete, and discovered CrossFit. Shortly after she completed her L1, as well as two yoga teacher training certifications. Discovering yoga as a young teenager, Nikki realized the benefits of yoga early on. She has been teaching yoga for 12 years and coaching CrossFit for 9 years, and has frequented many local competitions in Miami, including WZA. Nikki owns a hot power vinyasa yoga studio in Miami called Red Cheetah Yoga, where she delivers transformative yoga teacher trainings, a full schedule of power yoga, yoga for athletes, and many other styles, and still trains for local CrossFit competitions in her spare time. She is also the author of the Empowerment and Achievement Journal and is working on completing two more books.
